The son of two teachers, Kurt was abruptly thrown into the finance world at 19 years old when his father passed away, leaving Kurt a modest inheritance. Unprepared to deal with this tragic loss, Kurt relied on his father's financial advisor to manage the money. Through tax mismanagement and poor investment choices, Kurt's inheritance was soon cut in half.

At the time, Kurt was a student studying Finance at one of the top-ranked business schools in the nation, the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He began educating himself on personal financial strategies and the details regarding his own situation. Kevin was born and raised in S.
