President of Downey Financial Group, Inc.| Certified Financial Fiduciary | Lead Financial Advisor
Ed is passionate about helping people worry less about money through well-thought-out financial strategies for retirement.
Growing up, Ed was first introduced to financial services by his father, Ed Sr., an estate planning attorney, and his uncle Marty, a CPA. Both men helped individuals and families with their tax and estate planning needs. They influenced the financial principles Ed follows today as he helps clients navigate their retirement planning needs. In 2002, Ed opened his own firm, where he focuses on assisting clients to gain clarity about their financial situation before making a clear plan of action to get them where they need to be. For more than 30 years, he has specialized in helping clients enjoy a safe and secure retirement through conservative strategies that make sense for their individual situations.
“Not losing money is just as important as making money,” says Ed. “And paying too much in taxes is just another way to lose money”.
Ed is the author of the book “Retirement Blueprint: The first steps to building a better lifestyle in retirement,” which aims to help retirees and those nearing retirement build their own “financial house” and get their finances nailed down. He has also been a regular guest on AM 560 “The Answer” in Chicago. As a financial professional, Ed can offer investment and insurance products and services. He holds health and life insurance licenses in several states. He also is the owner and primary investment advisor of DFG Wealth Management, LLC, and a Certified Financial Fiduciary® CFF.
He has lived in Chicagoland his entire life originally from the South Side (Beverly) and has resided in the western suburbs for over 25 years. Away from the office, Ed enjoys spending time with his wife, Shannon, and their children, Eamon, Michaela and Brianna, and is actively involved in all of their extracurricular activities. He also is an avid boater.

After experiencing financial turmoil in his family during the dot-com bubble, Nicholas Crown dedicated his career to managing risk as an institutional fixed income trader. He founded the first Fixed Income Arbitrage desk at UBS in New York and became the youngest Director at the bank by 2014. Previously, Nicholas was a VP at Barclays Capital in Futures trading specializing in bond basis arbitrage. He began his career as a crude oil and natural gas clerk at the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Through his experience, Nicholas realized that retail brokerage products and retirement solutions failed to adequately hedge the risks many investors face. By pre-selecting and carefully structuring annuities, from the neighboring insurance industry, he discovered the easiest and most reliable way to safeguard retirement assets. With the mission of delivering this solution to successful retirees, he founded Revise in 2023.
As Managing Strategist, Nicholas frequently engages directly with clients. He holds a degree in Applied Economics from Cornell University, cum laude, and resides in Chicago.
Gage’s more than a decade of experience in financial services is only the beginning of a long career of servant leadership. Gage’s more than a decade of experience in financial services is only the beginning of a long career of servant leadership. His desire to truly understand the values his clients hold dear empowers those who work with him to choose strategies that best align with what they truly want out of life.
His time as a Mathematics major at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA was filled with problem-solving while his captainship of the soccer team kick-started him into leadership. His solution-based mindset and empathic nature are what lead him to the field and why he continues to find success. Success to him is defined as intimately understanding his clients’ viewpoint and working together to build a financial plan that puts them in control of their future.
Gage lives out his own values by prioritizing his non-professional passions and the people closest to him. He and his wife, Michelle, along with 2 dogs, Harry and Koda, live in Sterling, Virginia, where they can’t seem to sit still. Lovers of spontaneity and variety, they fill their time with hikes, self-curated winery tours, and anything that gets the blood flowing. Gage’s love of sports and outdoors is alive and well in the form of competitive adult soccer leagues and the occasional snowboarding adventure where he seems to spend more time on his keister than on the board.
