About Richard Gustafson

Richard Gustafson is a retirement income planning specialist at Beneficial Wealth, focusing on helping pre-retirees and retirees make informed decisions around Social Security, Medicare, long-term care, legacy and retirement income planning.

He works closely with our advisory team to ensure that each client’s retirement strategy is coordinated across income distribution, investment structure, and risk management. Rich understands that the years leading up to — and immediately following — retirement are some of the most financially impactful decisions a client will ever make. His role is to bring clarity and structure to those decisions so clients can move forward with confidence.

Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, Rich looks at retirement in a holistic manner. This helps him tailor strategies to each client’s goals, timeline, and comfort level with risk. He takes pride in educating clients on how changes in healthcare costs, tax rules, and market conditions can affect their retirement plan — and how proactive planning can help reduce unnecessary surprises.

Rich is a Certified Financial Fiduciary and RICP- retirement income certified professional. He maintains FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 registrations, along with licenses in life, health (Medicare), and disability insurance.

A Rutgers University graduate (B.A., 1987), Rich began his career in financial services in 2009 and has been recognized throughout his career for professional achievement and client service.

Rich gives back to the community with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. He likes to spend his personal time mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking w/ his Blue Heeler “Josie”, sampling IPA beers & planning his next travel destination. He’s a lifelong NY Mets fan and has visited every MLB baseball park.

Rich’s focus is simple: help clients structure retirement the right way — so their income is coordinated, their risks are addressed, and their plan supports the life they want to live.
